The Project
This project will be creating a functional design for the use of a steel frame design for use by Civil Engineers at The College of New Jersey. It will abide by the American Institute of Steel Construction standards. This design will allow students in the Engineering department to test various beams, whether steel, composite, wood, reinforced concrete, etc, and to see how various applied loads affect the beam. This will allow students to see if designed beams withhold the applied point load the beam was designed to support. Preliminary Design will be computed during the fall semester with the final design being completed in the spring. There is also a possibility of construction of the frame in the spring semester.
